About the show
Get ready to laugh, cry, and cringe (in the best way possible) with Avenue Q — the Tony Award-winning musical that’s just as heartwarming as it is hilariously inappropriate. Featuring a cast of colorful puppets and humans navigating life in a New York City neighborhood, Avenue Q tackles everything from love and friendship to internet addiction and finding your purpose, all set to an unforgettable, irreverent score. Think Sesame Street for grown-ups — but with way more sass, swearing, and surprisingly touching moments. Don’t miss this smart, satirical, and wildly entertaining show!
HEA’s production will take place November 28-30, and Dec 4-14 2025 at Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis.

About the Cast
-

Jose Ross Barredo
PRINCETON
Ross is delighted to play Princeton in Avenue Q and to share the stage with such a talented cast. Recent credits include Heathers (Hipster Dork), with upcoming roles in Shrek the Musical (Donkey). Originally from the Philippines, Ross is now based in Amsterdam, where he works as a software engineer by day and pursues his passion for theatre and music by night. A long-time lover of musical theatre, he continues to refine his craft through vocal training at Roel Bakkum Vocal Studios. Outside of rehearsals, Ross enjoys working out, coding, and spending time with his puppy, Kiyoshi. He is deeply grateful to his family, friends, and fellow cast members for their support and encouragement throughout this journey.
-

Joost Naaijen
PRINCETON
Joost, a 35-year-old Dutch software engineer, balances his logical mind with a flair for the dramatic. When he’s not wrangling Kubernetes clusters at Q42, he’s likely belting out show tunes on stage, most recently as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Christian in Cyrano. A father of two, equal parts geek, performer, and software engineer.
-

Liesbeth Visee
KATE MONSTER
Liesbeth (she/her) is a Dutch singer and performer. She has performed with various musical theatre groups and choirs throughout the country, and joined the musical theatre community in Amsterdam a few years ago. Recent productions include An Evening of Jacques Brel (Our Way Productions), La Cage Aux Folles (QETC), Song by Song by Sondheim (QETC), The Addams Family (The Cauldron) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The Cauldron). When she’s not randomly bursting into song, Liesbeth spends her time working as an art historian.
-

Natalie Bommelé Salek
KATE MONSTER
Natalie is a big fan of fairytales and storytelling and has been envolved in both professional and community theater since she was 9 years old. Her previous experiences include portraying Mdm. Armfeldt in a Little Night Music, Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Fairy Godmother in Mickey et Le Magicien, Meg in Little Women, Ella in Cinderella and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Natalie is honoured to work with such a hardworking and supportive team full of international talent!
-

Nathan Pollpeter
BRIAN
Nathan is excited to join this talented group of people (and monsters) for his first show with HEA Productions. Recently you may have seen him as Barfee in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Cauldron or as Renaud in La Cage Aux Folles with QETC. Some of his favourite and varied roles from his years on stage include Hines (Pajama Game), Oscar (Sweet Charity). Czolgosz (Assassins), Jim/Tom (Clybourne Park) and Jesus (Godspell). He’d like to dedicate this show to his beautiful family: Darja, Emilia and Alex!
-

Deniz Aladagli
Brian
Deniz is thrilled to make his debut with Happily Ever After Productions as Brian in Avenue Q. Originally from Turkey, he grew up obsessed with the magical combo of music and comedy in Modern Times, Looney Tunes, and Singin' in the Rain. That love first hit the stage in high school, when he discovered his comedic chops playing Tim Allgood in Noises Off. A self-proclaimed music nerd, Deniz shaped his tastes from the soundtracks of video games, movies, series, classical music, and MTV—basically singing along to anything that came on. Improv caught him by surprise in 2021, eventually leading to musical improv, and since 2023 he's been joining his castmates at easylaughs® to improvise a musical from scratch every month in Amsterdam. By day, Deniz is a game developer; by night, he's usually strumming guitar, experimenting with the Harpejji (look it up), or harmonizing with friends.
-

Philippe Bernay
ROD
Philippe works in marketing by day, and has on the side a true passion for musical theatre. He began performing in 2016 as Jamie in The Last Five Years, and has since appeared in numerous productions with English-speaking theatre companies in Amsterdam. His credits include Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, Ordinary Days, Avenue Q, Be More Chill, Chicago, Blood Brothers, Once Upon a Mattress with Happily Ever After Productions— which has become his artistic home. Philippe is excited to reprise the role of Rod in the 2025 production of Avenue Q, a character he deeply enjoys bringing to life.
-

Ente Breed
ROD
Since he moved back to his birth country, the Netherlands, in 2022, Ente has performed in several productions at multiple international theatre groups in Amsterdam. He has also been involved in directing, producing and set designing and is part of the InPlayers committee. Ente is thrilled to inhabit Avenue Q with his friends at Happily Ever After.

Ruben Apuzzo
NICKY
Ruben is delighted to step onto the streets of Avenue Q and prove that all those hours of singing in the shower were actually just “rehearsal”.
Though debuting in musical theatre and puppetry, he is no stranger to the stage, bringing over a decade of experience in improvisational theatre to the role of Nicky. He has also written and performed original monologues and sketches in Dutch and English. His work makes challenging themes approachable through his expressive, heartfelt and witty style, always delivered with a wink of mischief.
Offstage, Ruben works as a coach and transformation manager, guiding professionals through change. Experience that informs his instincts for timing, connection, and storytelling. -

Michael Schilder
NICKY
Michael hails from Canada, having immigrated to the Netherlands 3 years ago. A long time lovee of community musical theatre, he has performed in a variety of shows from his first time on stage in 1999 during a product of Anne of Green Gables. Other memorable shows in Canada include Beauty and the Beast (Gaston), Mamma Mia (Bill), Jesus Christ Superstar (Matthew), Urinetown (Robbie), Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Asher), and many more. Since moving to the Netherlands, he has been involved in every HEA show either on stage, or as assistant director in Blood Brothers. This time around, she’s excited to step into Gary Coleman’s shoes and give the role her Tsnatee flavor!
And as always, she’s always ready for a chat after the show: “See you after! Love, Tsnatee!🩷” -

Shiro Mungai
GARY COLEMAN
Shiro is a professional actor, director and intimacy coordinator (IC). She started out in Nairobi, Kenya where she was born. While there she worked in several TV shows, short films, Made-For-TV films and adverts. She then went on to study theatre in Paris at Cours Florent. Since moving to the Netherlands she has been active in the English speaking theatre scene such as OTC's The Laramie Project (Nov 2025) and decided to take the plunge into musicals having done HEAP’s Cinderella (Madame), Blood Brothers (Linda), A Chorus Line (Zach) Once Upon A Mattress (Queen). She was assistant director (AD) and IC for Heathers the Musical (2025) and will be directing Shrek the Musical (2026) and will be AD and IC in Spring Awakening (2026) Safe to say, she has fully caught the musical theatre bug! She speaks English, Swahili, Dutch and has forgotten most of her French.
-

Marc de Wolf
TREKKIE MONSTER
A simple fellow who got dragged kicking and screaming into musical theater when he designed the set for HEA Productions' first show, Into The Woods. Since then he's designed sets for shows such as Avenue Q, Chicago, Be More Chill and Cinderella. He also occasionally appears on stage, most notably as Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q. -

He loves improvisation, singing, and the Meisner acting technique and is currently training in all three in Amsterdam.
-

Márcio da Cunha
BOY BEAR
Based in Haarlem, and originally from Portugal, Márcio’s love for musical theater began with a pivotal moment: watching the movie Chicago. Though always a fan from the audience, his passion for the stage truly ignited when he landed the role of Joe in Waitress. As an amateur performer without formal training, Márcio brings a fresh enthusiasm to his performances, driven purely by his love for the art.
Outside of musical theater, Márcio leads a dynamic life as an engineer in the tech industry. His main hobby is playing volleyball, and when he's not on stage or at work, he's spending time with his two beloved schnauzers. He is inspired by musical theater names like Julie Andrews, Sara Bareilles, and Bob Fosse, and his goal in theater is simple: to have fun and share his joy with the audience. -

Anna has previously appeared in Happily Ever After Production’s, AvenueQ (2022), Chicago as Matron Mama Morton and she recently joined the 'Heathers Revival' company as the somewhat narcissistic teacher, Ms. Fleming.
