Shrek the Musical

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical is a hilarious, heartwarming fairy tale adventure that turns the traditional happily-ever-after on its head. When a grumpy ogre named Shrek sets out to reclaim the deed to his swamp, he’s unexpectedly swept into a quest to rescue the fiery Princess Fiona—with a talkative Donkey, a villainous Lord Farquaad, and a host of familiar fairytale misfits along the way. Featuring a lively score, witty humor, and a big-hearted message about love, acceptance, and embracing what makes us unique, Shrek the Musical is a fun-filled show for the whole family.

The show performs February 20-22 and February 25-29, 2026 at Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis.

Meet the Team

  • Shiro Mungai

    DIRECTOR

Shiro has been acting professionally since 2013. She started out in Nairobi, Kenya where she was born. While there she worked in several TV shows, short films, Made-For-TV films and adverts. She then went on to study theatre in Paris at Cours Florent. Since moving to the Netherlands she has been active in the English speaking theatre scene and later decided to take the plunge into musicals having done HEAP’s Cinderella (Madame) and Blood Brothers (Linda). Safe to say, she has fully caught the musical theatre bug! She speaks English, Swahili, Dutch and has forgotten most of her French.

  • Camille Gribbons

DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / PRINCESS FIONA

Camille, originally from the US, works in tech as a UX consultant by day. She spends all her hours outside of work dedicated to the Amsterdam theatre community, whether that be producing, directing, handling marketing and PR, helping run theatre companies, promoting local shows on her radio show Onstage Amsterdam (BRAM RADIO), or her favorite thing of all, performing. In the past few years, Camille has been seen as Heather Chandler in Heathers (HEA), Kristine in A Chorus Line (HEA), Roxie Hart in Chicago (HEA), Lisa in Next Thing You Know (Cauldron), Schwartzy in Spelling Bee (Cauldron), Emcee in Cabaret (QETC), Kate Monster in Avenue Q (HEA), The Little Mermaid in Disenchanted! (Cauldron), Deb in Ordinary Days (HEA), and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors (HEA).

She’s very excited to continue bringing everyone along in her insanity of producing, directing, and starring in her dream shows, this time with Shrek the Musical. It is Camille's dream to be a local celebrity, so if you recognize her out and about, please feel free to say hi to help feed her delusions of grandeur.
