🎭 CALLING ALL BROADWAY, DISNEY & ANIMATED MOVIE DUET STARS!
Do you have a magical duet you've always dreamed of performing? 🌟 Then don't miss the latest edition of our Live Talent Show: The Greatest Star - the ultimate celebration of musical theatre, Disney and animated movie magic in our community!
🎶 A WHOLE NEW WORLD OF DUETS AWAITS
You voted for it last year: this season's theme is Duets! From Broadway favorites to Disney & Pixar classics, we're celebrating those unforgettable songs that bring stories and emotions to life through two voices. Whether you're soaring on a magic carpet in A Whole New World, proving that It Takes Two, discovering Something There, or sharing another duet close to your heart, we're looking for performances that capture the magic of singing together.
Have the perfect duet partner? Wonderful! Flying solo? That's perfectly fine too. Solo performers are welcome to take on both parts of a duet and bring the entire story to life themselves. 🎤✨
🏆 WHAT'S AT STAKE?
The winner, chosen by public vote, will receive the great opportunity to perform their song at one of our upcoming Happily Ever After events.
💖 WHY COME?
This event isn't just about talent; it's also a heartfelt fundraiser supporting future Happily Ever After productions. Every note sung, every ticket sold, helps bring more musical theatre and Disney magic and create future opportunities for performers and audiences alike.
📣 NOT READY TO TAKE THE STAGE?
No problem — audience members are warmly welcome too! Come cheer for your favorites, sing along to beloved Broadway and Disney tunes, and be part of an unforgettable afternoon. Whether you perform or simply enjoy the spectacle, your presence helps make this event truly magical.
📌 Find all the practical details in the FAQ section below.
So what are you waiting for? Find your duet partner — or become both halves of the story yourself. 🎤✨
Both performers and audience members are required to purchase a ticket. You can purchase either a performer ticket or an audience ticket. If you register as a performer, you will receive a follow-up email with a registration form to complete. Please note that only 20 performance slots are available (for either duets or solo performers singing a duet), and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please contact philippe@heaproductions.nl with any further questions. 🎭💫
Talent Show FAQ’s
-
Everyone is welcome! Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, we embrace contestants of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. We're excited to see familiar faces and just as eager to discover new talents.
This Talent Show is more than a performance opportunity - it's a chance to be noticed by the Happily Ever After Productions team. Who knows where one performance might lead?
For participants under the age of 18, we kindly ask that they be accompanied by at least one responsible adult.
So come share your voice, your story, and your love of theatre — we can’t wait to see what you bring to the spotlight!
-
First of all, listen to your heart and bring this duet song that keeps you awake at night.
After registering, you'll receive an email with detailed instructions and a form to complete. Here's what to expect:
Choose a musical theatre or Disney / animated movie duet song.
Submit an audio file or YouTube link for your karaoke backing track. (only the audio will be used; there will be no video projection).
Your performance should be no longer than 5 minutes.
-
Up to 20 duet performances will compete, divided into two cohorts of no more than 10 performances each.
After each cohort, the audience will vote to select one finalist.
The two finalist acts will perform again and may choose either the same song or a different duet.
A final audience vote will determine the Grand Winner(s).
-
We understand that crafting a performance takes time and energy. Since only two performers will advance to the final round, we don’t want to place unnecessary pressure on contestants to prepare a second number — especially one that might not be seen by the audience if they aren’t selected as finalists. That said, presenting a different song in the final is absolutely an option — and might even help make your performance stand out and captivate the crowd! It’s a fantastic chance to showcase another song - for the same or from another dream role. Ultimately, the choice is yours. Performers are free to decide whether to reprise their original piece or surprise us with something new. We can't wait to see what you bring to the stage!
-
Yes! Both soloists and duets are welcome to participate. The only requirements is that all songs are duet songs and that each performance features no more than two performers.
If you're performing as a duet and are selected as a finalist, both performers will return to the stage for the final round. If your duet wins, both performers will share the price.
Please note that all performers must purchase a ticket. For duet entries, however, only one registration form needs to be completed on behalf of both performers.
-
We will follow a first-come, first-served policy. If a new contestant registers and submits a song that has already been chosen by an earlier registrant, we will notify them to select a different song. To ensure a diverse, engaging, and entertaining show, we prefer not to have the same song performed multiple times. With the vast array of musical theater songs and inspiring roles available, we trust you can find a fantastic dream role alternative!
-
As much as we adore live music, unfortunately it's not possible to accommodate live accompaniment for this event. The logistics make it too complex, and above all, we want to ensure that every contestant performs under similar conditions — keeping the competition fair and consistent for all. That said, performers are welcome to use instruments they can manage themselves during their performance — as long as they don’t require any technical setup. So bring your voice, your creativity, and maybe that ukulele or tambourine that’s been waiting for its moment — and let’s make musical magic together!
-
English is our community's primary language and the one our audience is most familiar with, but we welcome performances in other languages.
Express yourself however feels most authentic to you.
-
We're seeking musical theatre talents, so acting, dancing, costumes, and props are encouraged as long as they don't require setup in advance.
Note: All performances use standing handheld microphones, which may influence your choreography.
-
To ensure fairness, we aren't able to accommodate personalized technical requests.
This said, a technician will be present to enhance each performance equally.
-
Video projection won't be supported. We want the audience focused fully on your live performance - no distractions, just your talent taking center stage. We count on your creativity and natural charisma to shine!
-
Contestants will be split into 2 cohorts – each cohort with the same number of contestants (in case of uneven number of contestants, we will randomly assign one more contestant to one of the 2 cohorts). After all performers of each cohorts have presented their song, public will be asked to vote using their phone. 1 vote per audience member… the more friends you bring, the higher chances you win ;-). After all it is a friendly competition and a fundraising event, so fell free to bring your people with you.
-
The Grand Winner will be invited to perform a song during one of the the performances of Avenue Q.
-
Yes — musical theatre is a blend of singing, dancing, and acting, and we welcome all three! If you’d like to include spoken lines or unsung dialogue in your performance, that’s perfectly fine.
That said, each act must feature some singing and stay within the 5-minute time limit. So feel free to bring your character to life with voice and emotion!
